Andover Portal

The Andover_Portal is hosted by Andover Public Schools, the Andover Coalition for Education, and the Andover Youth Services, along with community and corporate partners to celebrate Andover and the Merrimack Valley as a dynamic and diverse region north of Boston with a rich history of global influences.

The Andover Public Schools is committed to providing our students and neighbors with authentic and personalized learning opportunities that foster both local and global connections, which we like to call “Global Conversations.”

Colorado Springs, USA

Colorado Springs, USA

Imagination Celebration is hosting a Colorado Springs_Portal on the grounds of the The Citadel mall at the north entrance by the Food Court.  Colorado Springs is home to an iconic mountain, Pikes Peak; the Olympic Training Center: US Olympic Committee and many international nonprofit organizations.

Imagination Celebration is a nonprofit connecting people of all ages to the brain-stimulating, life-enhancing, community-building power of creativity by inspiring artistic and intellectual curiosity; instigating community collaborations; and promoting life-long experiential learning to help us thrive in a changing world.   This pop-up public arts installation connects people of all walks of life around the globe - taking us to places that we may never travel to, other than through this Portal.

One Imagination Celebration program, the What IF…Festival,  celebrates lifelong learning and engages the community with the innovation, creativity, and the entrepreneurial spirit of the Pikes Peak region. The What IF… Festival, is a silo-busting, bridge-building, event fostering intellectual vitality by welcoming participants to creatively engage with businesses, nonprofits, artists, scientists, engineers, performers, athletes, educators, ranchers/farmers, architects, tinkerers, visionaries and students of all ages.

Imagine Group V girls laughing and writing stories with young Iraqis living in a displaced persons’ camp and longing for contact with the outside world. Picture an Upper School English class meeting with Honduran high school students to discuss the global reach of hip-hop music. Envision GA dancers collaborating with peers in Afghanistan, or Spanish classes speaking in the target language with children in Mexico. These were the possibilities created by the GA_Portal, a gold shipping container housing immersive audio-visual technology that connects to a global network.

St. Edward’s is a dynamic Catholic, liberal arts university in Austin. We brought a Portal Container to their campus for the Fall 2016 semester. They put it to dynamic use, connecting it to our global network for classes, performances, and more.
