Google & the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2016

In June 2016, Google for Entrepreneurs brought Portals to the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Silicon Valley and connected attendees at the conference to entrepreneurship hubs around the world in London, Mexico City, and Seoul. Individuals entered a Portal and connected with policy makers, entrepreneurs, and innovators at distant locations, as if in the same room.

Each Portal was placed at a Google for Entrepreneurs tech hub that hosts a strong community of entrepreneurs and thought leaders. Individuals or groups entered each Portal and conversed with people at all others. The participants in the other Portals were members of the London, Mexico City, Seoul, or Silicon Valley community looking to build new connections and curious to learn about new ideas.

Some highlights include:

President Obama speaking to entrepreneurs in four countries at once through Portal Screens

Secretary of State John Kerry and Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin speaking to entrepreneurs in Afghanistan, South Korea and the UK

Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker and entrepreneur Daymond John speak to entrepreneurs in Mexico City.
