PanamaCity_Portal Curator Position Opening

About

Portal Curators are the glue that hold our global network together. Curators staff each Portal, engaging their local communities, programming events, coordinating with Curators around the world, and occasionally providing language interpretation inside the Portal too.

The Portal Curator is the public face of our community. We are looking for a curator to help us launch our new Portal in Panama City, starting immediately.

Responsibilities

Operate the Portal: This includes opening and closing the Portal daily, turning on the Portal technology and troubleshooting as needed, ushering individuals into and out of the Portal at regular intervals, and explaining the Portals initiative to passersby.

Program Dialogues & Events: Curators are tasked with coordinating and scheduling events, artist collaborations, classroom visits, and performances. They work with our Global Portal_Curator and Curators at sites around the world to manage the programming and logistics of events.

Community Outreach: Curators will lead efforts to engage local organizations, including via emailing, calling, and visiting in person.

Press & Outreach: Curators also liaise with press, coordinate videographers and social media, and occasionally shooting their own video.
